Satellite complete annihilation-type propellant tank
Design and development of a complete annihilation-type propellant tank for satellites to prevent falling to Earth.
From the perspective of debris removal in orbit, it has been required in satellite design to allow used satellites to re-enter the atmosphere and burn up. Therefore, conventional satellite propulsion tanks have been made of titanium alloy, which poses a problem because these titanium alloy tanks do not burn up and fall to the ground even when low Earth orbit satellites re-enter the atmosphere. To address this issue, we are designing and developing a completely demisable tank that burns up upon atmospheric re-entry. This tank is equipped with a propellant discharge mechanism and meets the design requirements for such applications.
